Erbusco (BS), 8 October - From design to operations: this was the journey at the heart of “Physical AI & Humanoid Robots in Action”, the Executive Meeting organised by Lutech today at Ca’ del Bosco in Erbusco (BS), to demonstrate how Physical AI, Digital Twins and humanoid robotics can evolve from experimentation to industrial application across the entire product and factory lifecycle. The event brought together companies, experts and technology partners to explore the transition from AI that analyses and supports decision-making to AI that interacts with the physical world and manufacturing processes. The day also featured a live demonstration of a humanoid robot, together with use cases and insights into integrating these technologies into industrial processes.

The discussion focused on the role of Physical AI, with systems capable of perceiving, learning and acting, opening up new ways for people and machines to collaborate and offering new opportunities to make production more adaptive. Another key point that emerged was the integration of the Digital Thread and Digital Twin, which makes it possible to connect data, models and processes, and to validate and optimise scenarios before real-world implementation. The goal is to take companies beyond the Proof of Concept stage by integrating technologies into manufacturing processes and making them manageable, secure and scalable. Along this journey, Lutech offers a model ranging from advisory to deployment, including design, training, maintenance and Robot-as-a-Service models. This approach integrates lifecycle intelligence, enterprise systems, AI infrastructure, simulation, robotics and operations within a technology ecosystem.

The day featured contributions from several partners: BI-REX explored training and the development cycle of robotic solutions; Infor addressed logistics and production orchestration in the AI era, with a focus on Velocity Suite and the Agentic Enterprise; PTC contributed its expertise on the lifecycle of industrial humanoids, covering design, traceability, the Digital Thread and service. Completing the programme, the Lutech Demo Center presented its approach to testing and validating sovereign and sustainable AI use cases, with the aim of industrialising solutions. Humanoid robotics was also presented as a means of supporting people in repetitive, dangerous or difficult activities and as one of the technologies that can help address productivity and skills challenges.

“Physical AI and humanoid robotics are bringing Artificial Intelligence from the digital world into the physical one, opening up new opportunities for Manufacturing,” explains Giuseppe Di Franco, CEO of Lutech. “For companies today, the challenge is to turn this potential into practical, scalable applications by integrating them into manufacturing processes and the existing technology ecosystem. This is the direction in which Lutech supports companies, with an approach that begins with advisory and design and extends to deployment, training and the ongoing management of solutions. The convergence of AI, Digital Twins, simulation, robotics and enterprise systems makes it possible to build a path towards an increasingly adaptive, integrated and collaborative factory.”

The event at Ca’ del Bosco therefore placed the scalability of innovation at centre stage, highlighting that the challenge is not merely to demonstrate the potential of new technologies, but to integrate them into manufacturing processes and create the conditions for their industrial use.
